Aims and Summary

The objective of this module is to provide the student with the opportunity to gain practical work experience through an internship with a commercial or charitable organization in an English-language environment. The student must spend a minimum of twelve weeks with the host organization during which he will engage in work that will provide the basis for an individual project relevant to the host organization and the student’s study program.

Furthermore, this module serves as a platform for students to enhance their internship research tools, including the preparation of a well crafted CV and cover letter. In addition to fostering hands-on experience, it aims to assist students in defining their professional aspirations and career trajectories, as well as guiding their future academic endeavors. Through this module, students will not only gain practical skills but also develop a clearer vision of their future career paths and academic pursuits.

Intended Module Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module, the student should be able to:

  1. Identify and review the key professional skills gained from the satisfactory completion of a project, the scope and depth of which had been agreed with the host organisation and the student’s Academic Tutor
  2. Identify and produce the key professional report and presentation skills required in a business and professional
  3. Review and understand the key use of professional and academic skills, relating to the student’s course of
  4. Identify his professional project and his next steps in studies
