This module aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to identify and evaluate key issues affecting world trade and its impact on exporting firms. This module will tackle some of the mechanics of international trade, as well as its economic and legal parameters, alongside the analysis of internationalisation processes and models. To this end, this module will enable students create internationalisation plan based on screening and assessing potential markets to help make informed decisions when selecting appropriate entry modes and export operational plan.

On completion of this module, the student should be able to:

  1. ldentify and evaluate the key issues affecting world trade and its impact on the exporting firm.
  2. Analyse and apply the principles and legal tools of the regulation of international trade, particularly towards entering an emerging market.
  3. Examine export internationalisation processes and different entry mode strategies in emerging markets.
  4. Create an exports operational business plan to enter an emerging market with an export strategy.
